Proc. Workshop on SymbolicNumeric Algebra for Polynomials (SNAP96), SophiaAntipolis, France, July 1996. http://www.inria.fr/safir/MEETING/snap.html. Type Technical Report, Misc Abstract This meeting is intended as a timely workshop to discuss the emerging understanding of problems involving polynomials with inexactlyknown coefficients. Such polynomial problems arise, for example when physical measurements or numerical computations are used to specify a polynomial system. In this context, the usual exact algorithms of computer algebra are not applicable and new approaches must be devised. Such approaches are the fruit of the crossfertilization of symbolic and numeric computing, a domain sometimes referred to as seminumerical computation. Length 44
