AbstractThis meeting is intended as a timely workshop to discuss the emerging understanding of problems involving polynomials with inexactly-known coefficients. Such polynomial problems arise, for example when physical measurements or numerical computations are used to specify a polynomial system. In this context, the usual exact algorithms of computer algebra are not applicable and new approaches must be devised. Such approaches are the fruit of the cross-fertilization of symbolic and numeric computing, a domain sometimes referred to as seminumerical computation.
