EGEE - Enabling Grids for E-Science

An European project to provide researchers with access to a grid, i.e. a geographically distributed large-scale computing infrastructure.
  • Integrates 71 leading institutions in 27 countries
Leverages numerous national/regional grid activities world-wide.
  • Operates in conjunction with the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid Project (WLCG) at CERN.
Provides the computing infrastructure for the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
  • Provides a production grid distributed over more than 200 sites around the world.
More than 30,000 processors and 20 PB of data storage.
  • Virtual organizations (VOs) group users and institutions to limit access to resources.
