Call Access Application Selection Risc Science contact

RISC offers two kinds of access to its resources: visits and remote access.

Visits

Successful applicants can visit RISC for several weeks. Travel, accommodation, and living costs, up to a reasonable limit, will be covered by the project. The visitors will obtain complete access to the RISC infrastructure and facilities including an office place in a beautiful medieval castle, a computer, technical support, access to scientific seminars and research staff, and access to the library. A personal scientific adviser will support them in using the infrastructure, in exploring the possible application of symbolic computation to their research problems, and introduce them to more specialized experts as needed.

Applications, including a scientific curriculum vitae and a research proposal, should be submitted electronically using the online submission form in the application section. The proposal should address applications of symbolic computation in the proposer's research area, should detail the activities that will be undertaken during the visit, and the anticipated scientific benefit.

All proposals will be assessed by the selection panel. The panel will base its selection on scientific merit.

Applications can be submitted any time. Please make sure that you apply minimum three-four weeks before the intended visit. The selection panel will make its decision in two weeks after receiving the application.

Remote Access

Successful applicants will be provided with an account on the RISC computer systems, giving access to the installed software base and the computing resources. They will be assigned a personal scientific adviser, accessible by phone or email, who will support them in using the infrastructure, in exploring the possible application of symbolic computation to their research problems, and introduce them to more specialized experts as needed.

Applications, including a scientific curriculum vitae and a research proposal, should be submitted electronically using the online submission form in the application section. The proposal should address applications of symbolic computation in the proposer's research area, should detail the activities that will be undertaken during the access period, and the anticipated scientific benefit.

All proposals will be assessed by the selection panel. The panel will base its selection on scientific merit.

Applications can be submitted any time. Subject to successful review, immediate access for up to twelve months will be granted. Users can re-apply for access after that period.

Questionnaire

After finishing their projects, the users are requested to fill in the questionnaire on the Cordis Web Site:
