Go forward to A Core Imperative Language
The Programming Language Core
- "Core" of values and operations establish fundamental capabilities of
a language.
- Numerical computation: numeric values.
- Text editing: string values.
- General purpose: core for many applications.
- Starting point for language design.
- Design programs and study their computational powers.
- Later extend core by conveniences.
- Subroutines, modules, ...
Let's study the nature of a programming language core!
