The Agglomeration Stage
After partitioning and communication:
- Large number of small tasks,
- Large amount of communication.
Algorithm not efficient on real computers.
Combine tasks into larger tasks
- Increase task granularity.
Reduce communication costs.
- Retain design flexibility.
Scalability and mapping decisions.
- Reduce engineering costs.
Development overhead.
