Seminar room Schloß Hagenberg, time to be agreed.
Participants have to be familiar only with the most basic notions of set theory (union, intersection, power set etc.) and with the language of predicate logic.
Seminar talks.
The course consists of a sequence of talks dealing with the systematic development of set theory from the axioms and proceeding to somewhat more advanced topics like large cardinals. Some philosophical issues, concerning set theory as a foundation for all of mathematics, will also be discussed.
