RISC is located in Hagenberg im Mühlkreis, a village about 20 km from Linz, the capital of Upper Austria.

From the airport, there is a shuttle every hour to the main railroad station ("Hauptbahnhof") respectively bus terminal in Linz.
From Linz to Hagenberg
From Linz, you can get to Hagenberg by various means.By Car
Enter the A7 motorway in direction Prag/Freistadt. At the end of the motorway, go on straight ahead for 4.5 km, then turn left to Hagenberg. After 1.5 km turn left to reach the castle. By Train
Chose a regional train to Pregarten (direction of Summerau/Prag). Exit the train in Pregarten, a neighbour town of Hagenberg.

the "To:" field "Pregarten" and select in the "Products:" field
"only direct connections".
During the day, there is approximately one train every hour, the trip
takes about 40 minutes.
It is a 20 min walk up-hill from the train station to Hagenberg. Recently a city bus (the "Drei-Märkte-Bus") has been established which regularily connects the railstation in Pregarten with Hagenberg. Of course, you may also consider asking somebody at RISC to pick you up from the railstation.
By Bus
Starting from fall 2009, there is a direct bus connection between Hagenberg and and the JKU campus. Buses run on weekdays (Mo-Fr) every hour and a ride takes about 25 minutes, see the detailed schedule. Note that the bus does not operate during school vacations.Apart from that, there are several regular buses to Hagenberg each day, leaving from the bus terminal near the main railroad station ("Hauptbahnhof/Busterminal") and from the "Altenberger Straße" near the Johannes Kepler University. Take a bus to Freistadt that goes via Hagenberg.
