TitleEvolution and state-of-the-art in integer programming
Author(s) Patrick J. Driscoll, Hanif D. Sherali
TypeArticle in Journal
AbstractUnder a unifying theme of exploiting both algebraic and polyhedral special structures present in integer linear programming problems, we discuss the evolution of both technique and philosophy leading to the current state-of-the-art for modeling and solving this challenging class of problems. Integrated throughout the discussion are insights into the rationale and motivation that have contributed in a large part to the past and present direction of research in this fascinating field.
